This book is the first comprehensive study on the general theory of obligations in Qatari civil law, addressing both voluntary and non-voluntary sources of obligation.
The Qatari legislator structured the sources of obligation in Articles (64) to (240) of the Civil Code No. (22) of 2004. This book provides a detailed study of five main sources: Contract (consent, subject, cause, and dissolution), Unilateral Will, Tort Liability (personal, for others, and for things), Unjust Enrichment (undue payment and negotiorum gestio), and the Law as an independent source. It includes comparative analysis with Arab and French civil systems and a thorough review of the Qatari Court of Cassation's rulings.
